Playa dreams - 2015

After the event I go into a sort of fallow period but around January I generally have a dream of being on playa or getting there. Last night was the first of the season. I had just arrived before the gate opened and got in with my EA. The views were still open and I'm looking north-westish to see nestled before the hills along 34 a couple tall industrial things with pipes and catwalks and such. "What in the world are those?" I ask

"Oh, those are the coke plants." (As in sort of burnt coal)

"I never noticed them before."

"They've always been there."

At least I didn't have the usual dream of arriving with no gear. So, what have your playa dreams been?

Then there's that dream where you're riding a bike through a city with thousands of people and you realize that you are completely naked.........Oh wait, that is the Playa.

I think it's common, but I have been having reoccurring dreams where I'm at burning man and I haven't prepared at all. No food or water, no tent, "normal" clothes, & I'm a total darkwad. I think that's just normal anxiety and probably a good mental kick in the ass to get making stuff.

I dreamed I was working Gate and taking tickets. Not everyone had an official BM ticket so I was accepting random wrist bands and those single simple raffle tickets. Ygmir was off to the side shaking his head and saying "no, that's not how it's done"

Year round playa dreams since my first burn in 2009.
The first few years they were pretty ecstatic. There was always lots of green trees and lush water (in my first such dream I found another entrance, off to the south. You had to wade in ankle deep water under huge cottonwoods trees).
A few years ago they started turning into standard anxiety dreams: can't find camp, not prepared, no water.
This last year my camp kind of fractured. Maybe it's been a long time coming. Starting about a month ago, I started having really joyful Playa dreams for the first time in about 4 years.
I'm so excited about going back this year.

2002 Theme is prevalent in my dreams. Its always very tidal, with sea creatures morphing into humans. Some years we're on clipper ships, sometimes we have jetskis and jetpacks. Last nite my RV turned into a submarine instead of a boat and I went deeper into the playa than ever before. The lights and sounds disappeared into a darkness and I kept on accelerating down. I saw a faint light below and I moved towards it....

Then the fucking coffee machine started beeping and pulled me out.
