Conscious mind classifies: friend or foe, fresh or fetted, good or bad. If it's all the same to ya'll I'm gonna hook mine up to the electrodes on somebody's generator so I can short it out and

Awesome, that moves you way up on my "respected dude" chart!! Does it count that I know the opening theme jazz number (of the series) is called "Tank", and I'm humming it right now?Ranger Genius wrote: my favorite series/movie, Cowboy Bebop...
as for the geek chart....I'm a lowly furry....down at the bottom...
a furry into fantasy fiction, anime, and with the twisted mind of a MAD SCIENTIST (another great playa minority).

What about Lord of the Rings fans, especially before it was LOTR? At one time, only tRekkies were geekier that that! Sigh, I'm old enough to remember hobbits and elves sans pointy ears, pre-Spock. Came this close to becoming a Ren Faire/ScA geek. I still have a cape and sword obsession. Just capes at first, I could wheedle mom into buying or sewing capes. Grey ones, like in the book.
I teethed on my brothers' science fiction collections. Literally. I even used to have an "I grok Spock" button.
Sadly, I also enjoy Stephen King. And wine with screw-on caps. And movies like Hard Rock Zombies. Although if I ever had to choose bewteen King and Ellison, King would be in the rubbish bin.
Does this make me an Old Order Geek? I'm convinced there have always been obsessive geeks who know alll sorts of arcane, useless trivia that no one cares about. Where do you think we got crap like chivalry? Can you imagine geeks in Ancient Rome?
Where is the line between geeks and nerds? A "cool" factor?
Hey, did anyone notice Comic Book Guy gave his Real Name during the post-SB Simpson's?
And what about RHPS? I was Magenta once. Or does that fall toward "freak"?

It is a perfect wallpaper; from a distance it looks like something important, heheh.

That sounds fun. But just reading some of those things makes my skin crawl a little. I guess that's what makes it exciting.

I dated this wonderful girl in high school that always wore an angora fur coat. Well, she didn't actually go to the school, she lived near by on a farm. I think she was crippled, because she was always hunched over. Almost like she was walking on her hands and feet. And she had speech problems. She could only say one word- "bay". And she was always pronouncing it wrong. Ahhh memories.chineseobelisk wrote:-besides...who knew I had a fetish?
