As strange as it may seem, could the BMan activities and majority of the people become too trendy and too immersed within cliques?
How can you tell when it became too trendy, or to cliqued, or way too shallow and meaningless? What could you do about it, or should you do anything about it?
How much detailed info and abstract meanings can your Psyche handle and how much radical self expression and radical self sufficiency can your spirit truly handle? In other words, will or can your "Non-BM World Persona" get in the way of, or psyche out your "BMan Persona" or visa versa?
Are you truly experiencing reality and all that you can; or are you simply assuming that your limited biological sensors, and your mind, and your presumed friends are telling you everything there is to know?
I am curious about these questions in how they apply to me and also many others. Are you curious?

Where ever you go,.. there you are.
You are the accumulation of your experiences and/or your perceptions of them. Natures hardwiring of your sensory organs and the predispositions in your brain are the foundation these are built on. The boundaries that define you and the rules and morays you live by are determined in part by the context of the societal environment you find yourself. When That environment is radically different from your existence it's more difficult to adapt to new context. In some situations a person subconsciously seeks out the most similar context of there past and attempts to function as if in those circumstances, and refines and further adapts from that point. Where this strategy can go wrong is when you, really have no similar context or you misread the environment you find yourself in. For example the difference of experiencing nudity in a life drawing class vs. experiencing nudity at a drunken testosterone pumped rugby party. One of these past experiences will help a person get along better in the context of Burning Man that the other.
Still a better strategy would be to take it as it comes and adapt from your present day normal. Get involved, interact with others as dissimilar from you as possible, volunteer. Let the Burning Man environment soak in and soften your old boundaries don't force it. Don't deaden your senses to the point you can't absorb the things going on around you. Much of the experience of Burning Man doesn't happen till your back home processing the overload of input.
You can never truly be free but you can be freer.
Do your best to be a nice person in every situation,... most people really hate to have to kill nice people.
Yeah I just made it all up,.............

People always preach about being yourself and going against the flow, but I never hear anyone standing up for the poor fuckers who are being themselves by going WITH the flow. For example, I HATE trucker hats. Fucking hate them! As do most of the people I hang around with. I have the utmost respect for people in my general social proximity who still wear them. They just like them, so who gives a fuck if they're trendy and played out. The same goes for the spirituality thing. You didn't give a shit when no one else was doing it, so why give a shit if everyone else is. Wear what looks good to you, say what comes to mind, believe what feels right, and fuck all the political nonsense.

Interesting, but what did Trucker Hats ever do to you, they are inanimate are they not?
I care if some things are trendy or not, especially if such things are sold or parlayed as "not being trendy", but in fact really are.
What spirituality thing? What do you mean?
I wish I could just ignore most politically nonsense, unfortunately politics seems to be the preferred method in which certain governments and/or people extract wealth from me (i.e. compulsive taxes or forced consumerism). It also seems to be the preferred method which compels people of this planet go though all types of bureaucracy, endless compromises, and psyche gyrations at least for the lower 80% in the social economic scale.

Um, like the *Yoga Blessing/Thank You Hands thingie that every other shopkeeper or waiter/waitress in LA does if you buy something from them or tip half decently. What spirituality thing? What do you mean?
Fortunately it hasn't spread to the hispanic service sector just yet.
* almost as irritating as the 'namaste' greeting or the too over simplified (misunderstood) use of the word kaharma.
