Ceramics Camp

Post by tbird » Wed Feb 25, 2004 6:58 pm

Hi all!
I am excited about doing a ceramics camp where people could throw and build pots or do sculptures throughout the week. At the end of the week I could do a Raku firing and invite those who have produced work to participate in the Raku.
I am having trouble figuring out how to legisticaly start a camp like this so if there is anyone who can help me with this or who knows how to reach Lady B. Let me know. THanKs! k bye

I know it's been done before... during my explorations of the city in 2001 I followed my nose to a camp that was firing their raku early in the week. I think they used metal trash cans for firing. My sister has a kick wheel, and if you brought a gennie I'm sure you could make it happen.

Great idea!

Last year I went to Whistleworks and made an ashtray. I think the group is from Chicago. They seem to have the system down pat. So I suggest looking through the themecamp listings to see if they have any contact info.

Hope that helps!

Whistleworks was put together by the Burning Chicagoans. A quick way to get into touch with a bunch of them would be to drop by their list at
