Tribe on the Esplanade Invites New Members

Burning Man Veterans and Virgins!
The Black Rock City Bureau of Entertainment will once again present
The Lost Penguin Cafe; a 24-hour art party and rescue center for lost penguins and other cuddly creatures. In its fourth year on the Esplanade, the cafe features live interative art events, open mic shows ("Black Rock City Idol"/"Asshole Theatre"), tribal initiation ceremonies, and numerous community building projects. We serve a lot of zinfindel, chocolate, and pb&j's, and a good time is had by all.

Our camp is extremely well-equipped, with a full kitchen, shower, massage room, retreat tent, furniture, and a 30x40 lounge.
We also have a great cabin in Truckee for pre-Burn staging and afterburn
'decompression'.

We are a diverse, well-established tribe with strong traditions of hospitality, inclusiveness, tolerance, community, and fun. Mostly we have met through The Man, and we come from all over the country. People stay in touch all year over the net: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/thelostpenguin/
and we're going to do a couple of barbeques here in San Rafael and in Palo Alto.

We're looking for flexible, friendly folk who enjoy being part of a team. We do our individual artistic and musical contributions, but our overall group contribution is to create the cafe and camp each year. It takes a day of loading here, a day of assembly on the playa, and the same again afterwards, so we particularly value participants who can help with that. Check out our websites, and get in touch.
