I am seeking someone experienced with the technique of branding (people, not livestock) to make my 6th burn special. Would like to have this done at burn night with the iron heated by the man's embers. I'll provide the iron, you provide your experience and aseptic protocol. I'll keep the iron avail. for any others who want to participate.

I'd love to watch... and more than likely with the energy of the playa on the night of the burn... I'd like to be branded too. To me, it doesn't seem to need the 'experience' of anyone who knows what they're doing... it's a hot iron... you put it on the skin for a few seconds, it hurts, you rub something on it to help mask the pain, and party on... I hope this happens for you and most of all I hope to be around when it does so I can participate... I don't think tattoos are for me, but a burn scar... from burning man... more my thing. Good luck and keep me updated if something comes about.

There are folks that brand and get branded on the playa. I'm not one of them. I've yet to see one branding done on the playa which didn't end up looking like shit. Keep in mind this has been my expeience and certainly doesn't mean that there aren't successes.
Although I don't know much more on the subject than mistakenly putting my hand on a very hot coffee pot I suspect that part of the less than adequate healing that starts taking place immediately after the branding comes from getting dust in/on/around the wound and not cleaning it properly.
I'd suggest you be careful and ask for examples of a particular brander's work before going under the iron.

Last year my wife rode her bike into our flaming hot bbq and went home with a nice big burn on her leg. Is that the same thing?
