Burner Basketball (needs a little help)

Post by lizwiz » Thu Jul 08, 2004 11:15 pm

Hi Y'all!
My Fiance loves basketball! He is an awesome player and does really cool tricks. I want to help make a dream of his a reality. He wants to play basketball on the playa. We have the ball, we just need the hoops, and a little burning man magic. I found this awesome portable basketball system at SAMs club.

http://www.samsclub.com/eclub/main_shop ... dgoodfkf.0

We are flying in from Texas and have no way to transport it on or off the playa or to pay for it. It would really add to the experience if we had two hoops, but one will do.

I think it would be really cool if we decorated it with EL wire in order to play with it at night. We probably should also outline the court. It would be cool, too, if we got a glow in the dark basketball. We probably have room for the court at our Camp if the purchaser needs space to set it up.

I think this is a simple idea that doesn't require much work and will be a lot of fun.

Just let me know if you are able to take this idea and run with it. E-mail me if you need any help or ideas.

Smiles,
Liz

Hey Liz,
B-ball on the playa and a glow in the dark rock,,, I'm down.
Seems to me that a hoop can be built with lumber cheaply and easily. Then on the last night, burn them.

First Camp.

The dark RV. The big one. Has ALWAYS had a hoop on the front and the rear of the vehicle. Word is they've been hoping for years that someone - anyone - would get together a pick up game.

Try there. Usually in the early morning there's no one around to disturb.

Try there first.

Oh, and condition of the playa dictates much of this idea for B-ball.
