DJs Needed

Post by xevioso » Wed Aug 18, 2004 2:34 pm

We are located at 8:00 and the Esplanade, and will be bringing a pretty decent sound system, and also turntables, CD decks, and a lot of happy fun people.

We need DJs. We are looking for people who would love to come play for us. Preferably House, and Trance, although it might be fun to have some Junglists drop by. I am getting our schedule together, so if you would like to play, please let me know what kind of music you spin, and I will see where the best fit would be.

Thanks.

dj available

Post by Wendenglow » Wed Aug 18, 2004 8:55 pm

hi my name is zack
my dj name is XENON. i am live in brooklyn ny and this year wil be my third burn. i spin space disco, italo disco, 80s & electro. i am looking to spin this year because the type of music i play (weird spaced out dance music) compliments the theme this year to a T. but being from so far away, i don't know anyone setting up a camp to spin at. that's when i came across your post and immediately decided to respond. i would love to spin at your camp for you guys. i am also travelling with a friend who will being bringing records as well and looking to spin. he plays rock, trip hop, and other random electronic records . we were originally planning to bring our stuff and just try and meet people at camps and ask to spin, but if i can arrange something before hand, even better. we can spin apart or together if time is limited. we just really want to play our music in the playa atmoshpere. send me a e-mail if you are interested in having us. [email protected]

later,
XENON

Will you be recording?

Post by DancesWithElves » Thu Aug 19, 2004 7:24 am

Hi! I am creating an audio gallery to collect the music drifting away across the playa. (I got really frustrated by the fact that I couldn't catch every set that I wanted to, or stay up for seven days straight, or clone myself!) Right now I just have a few things up there from last year, but my intent is to collect as many recordings as I can of all things musical.

So, after seeing your post - I'd love to put the sets coming from your camp onto the site. Will you have some sort of recording capability? If not, let me know - maybe we can get something set up. I'll have minidisc recorders with me to loan - *NOT* my gifts! ;-)

If you need to find me on-playa, I'm part of the Camp Desert Storm crew in the Lamplighter Village (look for the big military tent), or the PlayaGoRound mutant vehicle with the swings. I'll also be on radio channel 8/23.

What is up!?! UGH!

Damm I think that we would all agree that Black Rock City has got to be one of the most bumpin' places for any Dj to spin. I'll be throwing down a few sets throughout the week and would love to spin some sassy ass shakin' beats at your camp.

I spin a mix of sexy nu school breaks, house, and ol' skool techno house. Drop me a line.

Be well,
Dj Cota

I'll be happy to swing by with some records...I'll have (coincidentally?) trance, house, and jungle.

Check it:

http://www.thedjlist.com/djs/FAT_SAM/mixes

Mix one is called "Hong Kong Corn Dog" - it's kind of a house sampler
Mix two is called "Not When But Where" - tribal trance. Real Moontribey flavor....

Let me know what you think. And if anyone is so inclined, vote for me while you're at the dj list. Like I told SED, industry people look at that stuff...
Thanks to Addis, I had more free time.

I am whipping up a set specifically for the Vault of Heaven theme, with Heavenly Tracks that will pound the playa with deep hard trance.. so get ready to dance.. I will be mixing some hard progressive trance...and mix in U2, Depeche Mode, mix it up with some Trance mode, and watch out! This will be mind blowing to all ;)

I am a Junglist Man!

Post by Kirill35 » Mon Aug 23, 2004 3:16 pm

Hey there,

My name is Kirill and I am a Junglist man!
I am a drum'n'bass dj from San Francisco and a co-founder of Subscience.org! I would love to come by and play a set. Our camp, Tranquility Bass, is going to be near by.
Here is some info about me:
I have been djing dnb for over 7 years now, started as a resident dj with Dr. Freeclouds mixing Lab in Costa Mesa then moved to SF and got involved with Sacred Land Project and now I am a co-founder of Subscience. We have 2 solid monthly events in SF and I also play all over bay area on a regular basis. You can check me out at ww.subscience.org. I am a very versatile dj who likes to bring energy to the floor with a dynamic, showcase junglist style spinin. I will be bringing different kinds of jungle to the b-man so, any style is ok for me. I would love to play some funcky, bounchy, jumpy stuff or techy trippy stuff.
feel free to cantact me at [email protected]

thanx and sorry for this long post!

Yo DJ TARD here (matt harris), Ive been playing strong in the Orlando seen for 10 years.
Gave out a shit load of CD's last year, but didn't bring records.
As of right now my bag consists of a lot of funky house w/ a tech house twist .
Occasionally going a little heavier when the vibe allows.

Haven't decide on a location for our camp yet.

Heading down from Vancouver on Sunday, be there by Monday evening. Let me know if you get this before then, or if not, I'll stop by your camp.

Oh yeah! Moontribe will be playing on Wednesday...come by to chill with the world's softest Subwoofer!
