The look on the face of a first time burner, that always gets me. :D

Hanging out with like-minded people and not having to explain what the event is about.

Looking at friends through the flames.

The look on someone's face when they finally set foot on the playa again. I love that one.

Small projects that you just stumble upon; all the work that goes into it.

Getting more people there. Every year I convince someone new to come along. Every year I watch with Joy as they acclimate, especially when the night comes alive. Does anyone remember the family of kangaroos jumping by or the flock of birds flying by? I love being with a newbie when these things happen. Last year, I went back home after being away for two years! It was hard to convince myself that I was up to the task again, and the ride up was a nightmare (hooked up with a really crazy person to share the ride over the internet). Still, when we finally pulled up to greeters, tears just started flowing uncontrollably. "I'm home and I never want to leave".

That would be the lights and sounds when you are out away from the action for that short mischevious spell.

And when there are lightning storms, even better.

The beautiful people with the hoops jumping on and off that bus all over the playa, the stars, the love, the trippers' smiles and the glint in the eyes of the enlightened and the damned :)
