Since the folks at GeoEye acquired the satellite company that used to take pics of Black Rock City and now charges for use or access to high resolution images, good picks of the city have been hard to come by. And 2015 was even more challenging, because, well... Weather.
But here's an AMAZING gigapan shot, created from hundreds of aerial shots taken by Oddboy (photographer) and Murphy (pilot). CHECK THIS OUT!!!. Huge thanks to both Oddboy and Murphy for putting in the effort, and hat tip to Big Blue Doggy for sharing the link with me. Enjoy!

I see a lot of camps on the outside of the outer road. Is that overflow? Was it allowed this year? I don't remember seeing that before.

If you mean all that stuff on the 3 side (it runs between 2:00 and 5:00), that's walk-in camping. That's been allowed for as long as I can remember.

Penny the Goose was wonderful. I show close-ups of the construction to non-burners and they are amazed at the detail. Where did Penny end up after BM 2015?

Thanks for the nice comments! Penny is currently in the town of Lucerne in Lake county. We brought her there at the request of the Director of Health Services for Lake County to bring a bit of art to to a community ravaged by fires.
