I don't care for drugs, but I care about the rest. I should move there. Currently facing legal issues after firing an ak in my apartment. That ok in NV?

Do tell me it was accidental??? (still chuckling) yes, it is ok to have an AK here, harder than hell to find ammo (don't know about the AK but 9mm is a bitch, Scheels has it but they want too much). Firing one off in your apartment would most likely be frowned upon, however there are LOTS of places to go around here......legally.

It was accidental, and still kicking myself for it. Bought it legally, at twice the going price, just before the ban. Searched all over Reno for 7.62 ammo...apparently, because of the wars, its in short supply.
Facing a misdemeanor neglegent discharge. Can be up to one year, but DA put a cap on 60 days for me. Got a pre sentence interview tomorrow, and sentencing on Oct. 9 then my sisters wedding, the day after.

Yes, drugs are illegal. So is ass fucking and blowjobs in some states. So is public nudity, flame throwers, imitation guns that shoot fire and a ton of other stuff that we see at BM. However I've only ever heard about drug busts and drunk driving mutant vehicles. Why haven't I heard about the couple fucking on the open playa getting busted? Cause you won't, there's no money in it. Drug laws are written to be adjusted at will. That includes the penalties and fines.

What I want to know is why there are no pictures floating around of all these NARCs that people claim to see hoards of. WTF? Post those pictures. Flyer them all over BRC. "Have you seen this NARC?" "Wanted: For being a poorly costumed NARC". Fight back if you don't like this stuff. Learn your rights if your going to skate the law.

Then there's always the fun trick of squirt guns full of LSD at the doughnut shop! (just kidding Po-po's)

Regionals are where it's at now. We just did one. We had NO cops on site. We had one show up at the gate. He actually appologized to us for coming but stated that he had to because some neighbor a mile away called. Maybe some day we'll get to a size that we'll be required by law to have them there but for now we have our own security measures in place. It's called volunteer Burner Rangers.

IF and only IF BM ends up on private property then things can change. Cause they'll need a search warrant to gain entry. Although I bet driving to and from every participant would have to go through an airport customs style of bottle neck.

Lastly I'd like to say that some of the crass comments toward fellow burners I've seen here are BS. I haven't been surfing eplaya for a while now but I recognize most of you and expected more mature posts. Not "OBEY THE LAW YOU DUMB HIPPIE" crap. To those folks all I can say is "STOP SHIRT COCKING YOU DUMB YUPPIE TOURIST!"

Ae you kidding 7.62 x 39 is the EASIEST ammo in the world to get. NO OTHER round is produced more.

Shotgun news is still selling KOEAN WAR surplus. 1000 round cans even. 9MM is harder to find but still out there.

In addition to delivering porn at rock bottom rates the internet can find you everything else as well.

LE will stll have the right to enter private property for an event that size.

They will ask to see the organizers, and want to see some sort of permit your supposed to have.

Sanitation, or pyro, or fireworks, or say " we got an anonymous tip. And of course a warrant is one phone call away - "Your honor - Based on Bm statistics and arrests made int he past and personal observatyions of officers that are there now as PAYING customers and have personally sworn affidavits to that fact ..... we need a warrant for...."

You forgot the fact that an officer can enforce laws on or off shift, all the officers have to do is buy tickets and go off shift. From there they simply take in BM and observe - then arrest outright after identifying themselves or call for warrants.

where there is a will, there is a way. What Private land would do, is save BM the money for permits from BLM. (over a million 2008)

Tuesday & Weds. mornings are when Wally gets their ammo shipments in. 100 rounds of Winchester 9MM for $20. (Your now limited to 3 boxes per person) It's just usually gone by 8:30am. Scheels & Cabela's want $30 for the exact same thing.

I can watch a guy spark a joint right outside of the window in the restaurant my girl and I are eating in ( last Wednesday ) in broad day light, I can take a toke WITH the local sheriff at a NORML rally at HST's pad in Woody Creek and I can attended countless opening day, closing day ski area, Halloween parties and pass the herb around all day long without a care in the worldâ€¦

Unfortunately, the Nevada and US federal laws become "our" laws for that week. Many things are topsy-turvy at Burning Man, and oddly, this is one of those things. Not so much bummer attitudes as harsh reality.

Anyway, the sad truth is MOST of the law at the Burn are complete dicks and will bust you for anything they can write a (large) ticket for. Not all but certainly the vast majority, so you have to be discrete. Such fucking bullshit, but that's the way of the world... I'm looking into obtaining a medical card for Nevada, and if I get it I'm going to follow a cop around for an entire day getting thoroughly blazed while I take notes on what exactly he does. Good idea! Make sure you do it in front of one of the federal law enforcement representatives.

While I agree with your sentiment to a large extent, they unfortunately do have laws backing their side of the argument that tell them they can in fact tell you what you can possess or ingest.
