My first burn...

I did not want to leave!!!

It was so effing nice there. Pass the eff out from alcohol or whatever, fall asleep under the stars (man that was so awesome!) Wake up at the crack of dawn sun in your face, warming you up getting you hot to shake off your sleeping bag.

Give into the sun & hottness, wake up, your camp mates have been awake a tad longer than you and have coffee ready while cooking eggs & baccon (HELL YEAH!) Talk about your night before, share stories, plan what you want to do taht day & night.

Take a dump in the EARLY morning in the porta potties before they turn into a sauna! Eat breakfast with others, grunt and tell stories. Take a mid morning nap, trying to shield your self in the shade structure/gazibo(sp) from the sun.

Mid day/early after noon, I would ride or walk around the city, looking around at others camps and what not. Stopping at some to hang out, offering a gift for what they have to offer (usually liquor/beer or snack food). Making new friends while drinking or snacking, sharing other stories.

Head back to camp to refill gifts & water bottles goto main theme/party camps for afternoon dancing & drinking (mostly at The Deep End :) )

I can tell more...but I am getting tired, drinking some WONDERFULL IPA beers I got when I got home.

I cannot wait for next year to do it all agian and lots more!

The burn is held way too close to california.
That could have been me. A buddy and I dressed up as 'tourists' that day and walked from 3' to 9' asking people where the food court was and where we could spend our Canadian money, because they don't accept $ at Burning Man.

The reactions were hilarious. Some people went ballistic. About 40% caught on right away, but the ones who didn't were just too funny.

It may have been on Thursday, over near the Sno Kone pad on Corvair & 7:30. THere were a group of people (probably all from the same camp) dressed like tourists, and they had 2 tour guides with megaphones. The group was led around as the tour guides gave a brief history about each camp they walked by (making it all up of course), trying to coerce people walking by to join their group. The tourists took pictures of people, theme camps or themselves in front of something and were saying funny tourist things... The priceless looks or laughter was worth watching them for 10 minutes or so...

This convo reminded me of that moment... thx! :)

Well, then, were you the same guy who came up to me at playa info, and, in seemingly all seriousness, asked if anyone had turned your bag of weed in to the lost and found?

I could not tell if this was performance art or for real. If it was performance art, the guy was seriously good...he didn't crack a smile, like I would have. Even when I said that if I found it, I wouldn't be telling him.

He seemed so upset and for real, I felt bad laughing at him.

That doesn't surprize me.
I have seen people get bags of money returned to them.

Thank you for your stories. This would of been my first burn but unfortunately I was unable to attend last minute.

I am living vicariously through your stories.
