I have no idea what they'd have to have come to if they actually considered closing Bidwell Park. That's a real treasure...

Boooo! Im not attending this year either. It will be year 2 off. Bought a couple of tickets for this year and sold them to a fellow burner because of low cash flow BUT next year i will be there with flare!

As awesome as the burn is, I had to sacrifice this years burn to do everything else offered to me, like 2 regionals (AWESOME!), 4 other festivals, 2 weddings and a trip out to the island. Good trade right?

I am missing BM but now I have all the time in the world to come up with new and improved costumes for next year!

Here's what I'm missing this year:

Halcyon, single this year. Aw man, what fantasies I've had about him! And since he's single this year, I was hoping to at least get to hang out with him more.
Burner clothes. All of mine were lost in a flood.
Playa Bacon!
Port-a-potties. I now take every chance I have to use one.
A reason to wear my utility belt without people laughing.
A chance to walk around in naught but underwear for a week. And I was really looking forward to showing off my new hand-knit thongs!
The people. My area of PA sucks on the interesting people front.
All my friends.
Getting my one tan of the year - it lasts all year!
Telling the newbs NOT to bathe in the water truck's stream!
Getting my bike stolen, then meeting some awesome people who found it.

Things I am doing during BM week this year:

cleaning the apartment.
job hunting.
eating boring, normal food.
consuming no alcohol or other intoxicating substances
Knitting playa costumes for no good reason. I might even wear some of them out.
Knitting more thongs.
Annoying the crap out of my non-Burner BF by constantly being upset.
Debating the wisdom of not moving out to Austin with my Burner friend, who was planning on taking me... I didn't go because I get a lot of flack for our age difference. Feh.
Spending as much time as possible on the eplaya and BMIR.org.

I just woke up to the sound of this and it was part of my dream. Happiness until my eyes opened then sadness. I still want to get in my car and drive the 25hrs it takes to get there.

Having the sounds of a live burningman work their way into one of my dreams is as close to the burn as I've been so far. I'll just say it felt like home.
