There were so many amazing creations. I wouldn't say I had a favorite but I really liked the Mushrooms.
Homiesinheaven found this photographer who did a nice documentation of most of the MVs for 2010 (among other great images):

Well, I can guarantee my MV won't get any top honors. However, it was built and funded by just me and a friend so you can't expect much. Survived five years so far. This year it was a furry taxi which was a bad idea if I was trying to get somewhere but I certainly met some amazing people from all over the world! Okay, I will toot my horn on this, we did get tons of compliments for actually playing music with words in it! We got a little techno at night (still with words) but in the day, ranging from The Clash to Louis Armstrong and even sporting some random stuff like "Dick In A Box" seemed to make people happy.
Anyway, my favorite STILL is the Neverwas Haul. That thing is absolutely amazing! But, I don't have the energy to give kudos to all the awesome MV's out there. Some people are just amazing at what they come up with.

The Surly Bird for the sound system and DJ's--a perennial favorite. Gon KiRin was amazing, and the rhino was also super cool. It is so difficult to pick out one favorite, when the MV's are my favorite part of the burn to begin with.
When you look out of your window, you do not see the world as it is, you see it as you are.

The Contraption takes the title every year for me. It has style that nothing else comes close to.
GreenPenis & Neverwas Haul are my other 2 faves.

I don't care what the borg says: feather-wearers will NOT be served in Rosie's Bar.
When I ask how many burns, I mean at BRC.

I still remember that night in 08 with you, me, Karine, le Chat, and those passers-by you talked into pushing. You were a demi-god that night!

For sheer class? Neverwas. Something about a steam house on the playa...
For sheer beauty? Yeah, the Contraption. It just keeps getting better and better!
For awe-inspiration? The Participle. Plus it kept us warm (or did for a short short while) on burn night. I likes that!!! (Thank you, Dick!!) Plus it is probably one of THE most recognizable MV's out there...
For all-out incredible flame? The DPW Flame-o-matic truck with the multiple "hooters" on top. Another one for that warm and fuzzy-headed feeling!
One I didn't see this year - Luci's Organ. Not only extremely long liived, but flame symphonics executed at it's finest.
And for the Dishonorable Mention category? The LEO quadrunners that consistantly ran way over the speed limit, stirring up dust wherever they went, combined with the "so what the fuck you gonna do about it" attitude of MOST of the riders. New low point in playa transport.

Oh yes it certainly is. First time I watched it being played, I couldn't get the smile off my face for hours. I just wanna know where she keeps enough propane to run it. Seems like it'd polish off a 20 pounder in no time flat, and the machine just ain't that big!.Bounce530 wrote:Is this 'Lucy's Organ' ?
Saw it at DMV on Wednesday evening.

did you guys break down in front of Hushville? My friend Dave was the burly guy w. the goatee trying to help get it started. He said he just about had a heart attack.theCryptofishist wrote:I still remember that night in 08 with you, me, Karine, le Chat, and those passers-by you talked into pushing. Oh man... I had bocked that out of my memory. The CO wrote:That was a hell of a night.
Ha!
Actually, as troublesome as it seemed at first, that night is one of my favorite memories from that year. I hope Dave is feeling rested by now, Boijoy. It really was a hell of a workout to get that thing going when the little hit-n-miss engine was on it. Fortunately, every so often it decided to actually start.
The diesel performed admirably this year, Fishy. You'd have been proud. About mid way through the week we started using the hand crank "model-T" method of starting, rather than the electric starter motor because people seemed to really enjoy watching it. Plus I could get someone to interact by letting them hold the decompression lever while I cranked. Then when I'd yell for them to let go, she'd pop right to life on the first hit.
