Thanks for the heads up. I will check it out and let you know!PurpleKoosh wrote:Please, rethink this. Fondue fuckin' rocks. I even found you a restaurant in SLC:Jordan 10-E wrote:Also to let you know, I have never had fondue in my life and haven't been particularly planning on it.
The Melting Pot
The only reason I don't go out for fondue more often is the best place in my area - La Fondue - is painfully expensive (dinner for 2 generally runs in the $120 range when you add in drinks and tip), and nobody should have to eat bad fondue.
The "Burning" Man that almost was'nt.

and there is also the matter of the name of the event. Burning Thingie just doesn't have the same ring to it...
I was hoping you might get the jist of what I was saying and not be so literal. I do not know the legal side of Burrning Man but am interested in the creative side. I was interested in the look of the "men" used in regional and international burns, ie NZ. I think that the form of the man could be changed from year to year, giving a new and interesting expression of the art and maybe a less corporate look. Burning "Thingy"?

Hey, the man burned. He burned differently than in years past, so? And I'm guessing next year's burn will have imperfections and some folks will be excited while others will be disappointed. Am I psychic or what?
I liked the burn, but my standards may be lower than yours.
As for burning things ither than the man, hey that's why I love our Utah regional. At the three Synorgys I've attended, we've burned a wo/man, a giant white rabbit, and a 30 foot tall gingerbread man. The wo/man was male on one side, female on the other and s/he had a pet crawling up one leg. I think kids did the pet. The white rabbit was covered in some type of fabric and had a big ass watch. The gingerbread cookie was a very faithful reproduction of a game piece by Chuck of Arabia for the Candyland theme. I'll have to hunt up his url, the structure was simply amazing.
I can hardly wait for the next burn, anywhere. Winter Solstice likely. Had a giant sun in flames, what will be next?

5 things:
1.You are a sensitive guy and painfully easy to goad. For being "somewhat offended" that's a long response.
2.Sensitivity is not a bad thing.
3. I didn't label you at all. It's interesting to see the labels you pulled out:
'I am some "yahoo" or "fratboy" or "dirty old man" or "rapist" or "pornographer"'
4. Fondue-cheese or chocolate-is indeed delicious.
5.The name of my camp in '02 was "Camp Overboard"
Respectfully,
SF
