My sense of self-worth, my memory of jumping out of a plane, and my friend Mike.

I was gifted the greatest thing ever! I was resting on top of the camper nude when a very nice man offered to share his supplies with me. He used the highness of the camper to allude to the nature of his offering. I welcomed him onto the ship of the sky pirates most enthusiastically. We ended up sending waves of really loud laughter into the camp next door. Naturally the neighbors noticed and without warning the neighbor man climed aboard the ship and blessed our actions with a bottle of Burning Man wine. A real bottle of wine with the man on the lable. I was so shocked by this gift that I was unable to react with the approprait level of ass kissing they deserved. I am saving the bottle of BM 2005. I will make a long winded toast on the night I arrive and then I will begin my adventure. I think my toast is good so I will share it now, "we lived another year to see another Burning Man, now let's live to see the end of the week!" I have lots more to say but you get the idea that this gift of wine was very symbolic. If anyone knows the people who gave the wine, please let me know. I would like to make them something special. I'd also like to find the boy who shared with me. He was so hot!
and fuck you too.

Every year I get the best gift ever, each year different.

2004, my wonderful campmates, my husband, and the playa gave me more than usual.

I received the greatest head spin EVER! I asked for it when we saw the Head sitting, twinkling in all its glory, and with a great big grin he said, "I'd love to!" Our group stepped back, of course everyone in the vicinity stopped to watch, and the Head went wild! Bonkers, back and forth, rocking, spinning in huge circles!!!!! Beautiful, exciting, brought great happiness to all of our hearts. Ahh, I have goosebumps! And, after planting a big kiss on cheek of the Head's man, we got to gift him! Neato!

The other was a spectacle of unparalleled brilliance. My friend nudged me as we stood in line at the Cafe to look at the man in the cheetah costume walking by. From the next line leapt a nomadic man. The cat recoiled. The man danced around the cat, moving forward and back with astounding grace. In circles they moved, back and forth, jagged moves, smooth, fluid moves. The man controlling the cat completely disappeared, it was only the cheetah and the nomadic man. As the dance came to a slow and sensual conclusion, the man opened both hands to the cat, the cat, unsure, moved cautiously toward him. Finally giving his trust, he laid his head into the nomads hands. The nomad gave the cat a kiss on the top of his head, and the cat returned the kindness with a lick. I know this will sound totally corny, but after the dance was through, I looked at the man and said, "I miss my cats." He gave me the biggest, strongest, warmest hug and with our tears and smiles and thoughts of our felines at home, we shared an energy so strong and serene. Artistic brilliance. Spontaneous, pure and magical, beyond belief.

A little bit of Half Dome's ashes, encased in a glass bead.

Niiiice. I couldn't muster enough of that certain something to stay in that churnin' burn circle. I lost a kitty cat flip flop in that whirlpool of passion.

Don't forget...

Love is the answer.

It was given to me by Smoke Daddy last year. Its a small blue glass bead with a bubble inside of it. In the bubble is just a tiny amount of his ashes. Have no clue how he did it, but its the single most meaningful gift someone has ever given me. It sits on my altar and as soon as I figure out a way to mount it, I'lll wear it as a necklace.

I just realized I made it sound like my friend is a possession.

I thought of something really meaningful to me...a paratrooper pin that a former paratrooper gave me when he learned I had just jumped out of a plane in 2003.

My AstroPups dogstar.

My most valued gifted playa item is the AstroPups dogstar necklace that was given to me after having been asked to become a part of the AstroPups in the future. It's just a simple blue twine with a plastic glow in the dark white star with a sticker of the AstroPups logo on it.

I brought back a bottle of playa that I keep in my studio- Whenever I make a new thing, I give it a little dusting "to prime it".

[quibble]if its a bead it should have a hole in it already[/quibble] Wire wrapping? If so, practice on something less precious.

I never met Half Dome, but I guess the MrFishist did and we went to the memorial bonfire on Ocean Beach a couple of years ago.

The funny thing is, 2004 was my 1st Burn, it's also the year of the monkey ( Chinese new year) . 1968 was the year i was born, and also the year of the monkey  .

Coincidence, i don't think so.

Favourite possession?
"Gardenia", my troll doll from the Troll Adoption Center in 2004. She still sits on my computer, watching over me.
Why her? Who knows. All I know is she still makes me smile.
