Yes, it was so fun to spend my first burning man with my 2 sons. We all camped together with a bunch of their ol high school friends, every one under 30 except my wife and myself. We got there on Sunday night, put up the tent trailer, unpacked our bikes, and took off to the deep playa. My oldest son loved the look of wonder in my eyes, as I saw the man, the playa, all the many other things to see, for the first time.
It was also my youngest son's birthday on Friday during burning man. We all went out to the big sound camps together, saw Ill Gates, Freq Nasty, plus others. Has a good time.
Overall, it was a awesome time, got to spend a lot of time with my family, and made lifetime memories that we will always remember. We might even take the grandkids next year, 3 generation at burning man would be pretty cool.
CANT WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR
Best part of 2013?
Re: Best part of 2013?
The Best Part of 2013 . . . probably the night I walked across the city stopping to climb every structure I was capable of, and just sitting there marveling at the beauty and the astonishing unlikeliness of it all. I felt incredibly lucky to be there.

One of my best experiences was walking from my camp at around 4 pm on the opening Sunday into the open playa and climbing everything I could find and talking to the artists who were all putting the finishing touches on their projects. I got so many personal tours of the effigies and other wonderful artwork. I was really personal and special.
I ended up at the Temple at sunset for the opening dedication and ceremony. It was a wonderful end to the day. It was the only event on my calendar that I actually made it to all week and I'm really happy I did.
Then the sun went down...

The whole burn was the best part! It was the best burn I've ever had! I met new people, I put myself out there and made new friends! I couldn't have asked for a more perfect burn! I had the best campmates, I got to see a lot of art, Truth and Beauty (name?) was so inspiring.
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.
