I FEEL THE LOVE! THANK YOU!

Post by Merry Maid » Tue Sep 13, 2005 11:21 am

Hi, I'm Merry Maid currently residing in Orange County CA, but mostly from Indonesia, Australia and the UK. I enjoy travel, camping, rocks and soil, large mature trees, open spaces, outdoor cooking, meditation, linguistics, and BIG HUGS!.

I am one of those mixed up people who have lived all over the world and hasn't really felt comfortable or fit in any one place. Growing up in different cultures and experiencing life that is "different" from other ways, has given me insights, but also feelings of inadequacy. Close personal connections, sharing laughter and "fitting in" is hard when you're not a local. HOWEVER....

I laughted more and harder at BM this year than I have in a long while!
Connecting on a basic level -free of hangups and cultural restrictions was very refreshing and releasing. People that come to BM are there to be open -and so they are. Open to new experiences, ideas, people, ....
Appreciation of the environment and natural surroundings, minimal living and self reliance IS MY WAY OF LIFE and it ROCKs! (In more ways than one - I'm a geologist!).

It is wonderful to find a whole family who I can see regularly (at least once a year), THANKYOU! I LOVE YOU!

Keeping it REAL and ALIVE......... mm

I'm open to any burners coming this way or needing assistance in geoenvironmental assessment of distressed properties.
I'm also fluent in Indonesian and Farsi (incase anyone needs help in that area!).

Hey Merry Maid,

There is a thriving local burner scene in Orange County (I lived there for many years) with pretty regular events, you should check them out under regionals. Also be sure to check out Xara Dulzura in San Diego (late spring). I hope you are well.

This is why I go. What was great about this year was all the great experiences I had while SOBER (during the day; nighttime was a different story). Speaking of hugs, for some reason this year I was all about the hugs. Unlike previous years, I turned a lot of handshakes into hugs this year. Someone has to take the initiative and I guess it was my turn this year.

Thread was bumped by a spammer with a link to housecleaning in their post, under the word "maid". Posted like an eplayan at that... but didn't fool me. Y'all fell for it.

It was already bumped between the spammer and the eplayans. The explanation was for the benefit of the later posters wondering where the post had vanished.

Snark at me will ya?

Boy am I lost. I have no idea about thread bumping or what others fell for...sometimes being a birgin newby is embarassing. Excuse me while I adjust my dunce cap.
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

No, not a joke, spam. I do this daily, trust me. Now drink the kool-aid and shut up.

No worries. It will all seem like dreary little infighting soon enough.
