Was the Man set up to rotate this year ?
I remember reading something about the Man being set up to rotate. I saw what appeared to be a "people powered" cog and gear mechanism at the center/ top of the Funhouse, but it was locked up when I was there, and I do not recall the man ever rotateing . Was this a plan gone astray due to some technical difficulties ?
Stay hydrated my friend.

Yes, the man did in fact rotate during most of the night hours tues through thurs. You should really look up more.

A Lesson?
I (with some other random people) had the opportunity to spin the Man on his axis on Thursday night. It was cool to feel the weight of the Man (in a indirect sense) as I exerted energy to turn him. Weight and wood are two things I am becoming more familiar with so it was a cool interactive experience for me. (That day I had just completed building and erecting my wood installation, Order & Chaos, so I was being contemplative.) The Man was heavy... wood is very heavy, but it was cool that with multiple people working together on the cog you could turn him, pretty fast even.
Of course the symbolism is build right in. The symbolism of multiple people working together to make something happen (literally in this sense) where it would be impossible (or very difficult) for one person to do alone.
Sometimes a helping hand is what it takes to make stuff happen. At Burning Man. In Life. That's what I thought at least.
Props to the turnstile(s) of Burning Man 2005.
