7 new pairs socks

Each morning the previous day's undergarments are tossed in the burn barrel. No stinky laundry to tote home. Elastic band cut from underpants and gifted to passerby as a really cool headband.

So, Saturday night after a fire show we did for a local band/birthday party, some of my performer/camp mates were discussing leaving for BRC next Friday; I had been working on my own strange assumption that we were leaving this Friday. So the thing making my burn easier right now is the bonus week of prep time I suddenly have!

And Jesus stopped by yesterday and painted my trailer.

Camel Back ... and in the camel back ALWAYS

1) One Ply Toilet paper - for when the blue cube is enpty
2) Googles
3) COMPASS - Having to sit on the playa for an hour in a white out storm because you don't now what direction to walk to get home kinda sucks. If I had that compass then I'd a been back to center camp in no time.

or a cheap handheld gps. The costs are coming down and if all you need is to mark a couple of locations and have it give you a line of bearing and distance to those locations and don't need fancy maps, they can get pretty cheap used. Also cool for marking something you want to go back and see later.

Some cell phones have access to gps.

Cheapest GPS I've seen is ninety bucks. Which is, incidentally, my grocery budget...

Actually, scratch the compass. I got stuck in a whiteout once and I hunkered down, making the occasional noise to keep from getting clipped by anyone foolish enough to move around in a whiteout. If there's no whiteout — I have good enough directional sense to find my way around the event going on nothing but landmarks.

about 6 months ago I got a Magellen explorist 200
at Radio Shackaroo for $ 95. With the mail in factory
rebate ($30) it cost all of $ 65.00. !!!

same 14 chan cpu (Waas enabled) as their $ 200-400 units.
Good size B/W screen. Just with no way to upload/download
data. works great for hiking,geocaching,positing, returning
to stored waypoints, indicating true compass heading and speed.

maps are burned in and rather crude for car use.
WTF, BRC isn't on any maps anyway. I use 2 rechargeable
NiMh AA cells else it would eat batteries like no tomorrow.
