This was the last year for PISS CLEAR -- Black Rock City's alternative newspaper -- and our final three issues have been archived as PDFs and posted to the Piss Clear web site.

This was our 13th year, and we printed over 30,000 copies -- but if you missed any of the three issues we published on the playa, you can read them online here:

Piss Clear has been one of the great anti institution institutions of BRC and it will be missed. Thanks Adrian for all your years of bringing it to the Playa.

One of my favorite things is going away.
OMG< I remember reading that article about "shirt-cocking it in style" last year I am not kidding I rolled in the dust and laughed so hard my cheeks hurt.

What was up with the ads in Piss Clear this year? They sure didn't look fake - Fiji water? Ebay Motors? Ones I remembered anyway...

I won't speak for all of us, but thank you. I know that for me the fun part is hearing how much people enjoy our.... um.... gentle wit....

As for why we're ending- Adrian's rants pretty much covered that this year, and you can read them in the links posted above. It's a lot of work keeping this going.

(oh, and a special thank you to LadyBee for not running me over on Weds night! I agree with your friend- it would have wrecked a lovely suit! *g*)

Hey, someone has to pay the bills. Besides, if the LLC can accept corporate sponsorship.....

Besides, the ads are there every year. Why get cranky now that we're gone?

We were a team! You know you say shit and I say shit back!

But the truth is, I always loved you Adrian, your paper, your costumes and your cute ass! It was great contributing some of my photography for piss clear, running around the event trying to find a copy that I had missed because I slept late.

Please do your book. Charge something for it to pay the expenses, if you need a sign release form for the photography just pm me. If you make a profit, please use the money and do something good for BRC- like throw a party!

The paper will be truely missed, but I know you will still be on the playa!

This community owes you one!

Photography? I've used your photography ... actually, I'm sure I have ... we've always gone by the credo of "better to ask forgiveness than permission" when it comes to picking our photos (usually pulled off the web at the 11th hour). Anyway... thanks for the photos!

Yeah, book coming in about 8 months, if it all goes according to plan...

Adrian, I just read your Rant about funding and art along with the interview with Lady B.

Let me say this, if I can, can I say it, OK I will:

Your contribution to mine and many others stand as tall as any other art form (art of word!) found on the playa! Don't ever let some self-centered, self-engracious ego of "do you know who I am?" "What have you contributed?" artist tell you anything other!

If you were able to distribute the 10,000, 15,000, or 47,000 thousand copies, everyone would know you more by name then just your art like those that produce "Stupid Art"

You kept it REAL!

Nope. Ain't gonna happen. Adrian & Deirdre (our publishers) are just doing DJing this year (two Bootie BRC's, plus a night at Thunderdome amongst other things), I, our former copy-editor, am taking a year off, and the rest of our kids have scattered. Our delivery boys however have started a new camp (Burning Mary's), so drop by center camp and give them a holler!

A+D will be with Fandango this year, as "the Camp Formerly Known As Piss Clear"

And I need to dig out an umbrella for NYC next week- y'all have fun in the dust for me!

However, the Complete Piss Clear book comes out this fall.........
