PLaya dust + bleach = ???

Post by mikesieben » Mon Sep 08, 2008 6:55 pm

Doing some laundry and getting some weird ass results.

I had some white tank tops with playa dust on them, and so I decide to use bleach for the first time in years and do all whites for load (i am a huge fan of everything at once in cold water normally).

I pour the bleach into the washer and the tank tops and one other t-shirt turn a dark dark brown almost black where the playa dust was on them.

YIKES!

I can't wait to open the washer at the end of the cycle.

Anyone else have interesting post playa laundry?

Synthetic or cotton? How weird.

No interesting laundry. Using HE detergent and a splash of vinegar. Only one thing still looks grungy, could have used a pre-treatment. But then, I've used white vinegar in laundry before I ever met the playa.

It was cotton.

The wash cycle ended, most of everything is whiter than white now, but the seams in the tank tops and the elastic part of some socks are a VERY dark brown now.

They were all cheap and I dont much care. The white linen overalls i got for the Playa are still a bit dirty in parts, but luckily i dont see myself wearing them anywhere but the playa again.

The prosecco i have been drinking is making me ramble.

Yay ramble!
