Can somebody tell me what location the playa webcam is streaming from?

Have fun my kiddies.... I'll be there next year.

From (wait for it...) WATCHING the webcam :)
it looks like just past 6pm near Center Camp.

Kinda hard to watch & listen ... makes me feel real homesick that I'm not there!!

From the looks of it, it seems to be on a tower above/behind Media Mecca and Larry Harvey's First Camp. I've been trying to find that aweome map some guy made with camp placements. 6;00 6:30 sounds about right.

Please do post if you find a map. At the very best I can partake of some euphoric substance and imagine myself there.

Interactive and supposedly based on the placement list. Just need to click on the sections and the camp x's.

We're all gonna feel so lame next year if we go back and read this thread, all of us hanging on that webcam stream... but for now, I'm gonna go waste most of another day staring at it.

Ok, tuned in for the webcast burn, and must say "Wow!" that totally blew. The webcast itself was very nice, in that the stream was very clean and not very choppy like years past. What blows is the stupid, lets jump the shark one more time commentary from guys in "The studio". What was missing was the two guys in sports jackets sitting in the studio reporting on the burning man.

Who actually thought that was a good idea?

Tonite's BURN

Post by MsLynn707 » Sun Sep 06, 2009 1:46 am

Well I must say that was rather interesting The Video Was Great when it was focused but the cam operater and the LAME audio dudes that got in the way of a rather flawless Broadcast, Technically Speaking they had a "HOT" Burn except for those fire dudes who could not get the Man's base on fire. I'm sure glad that wind died off and it seemed to clear up a bit and I so wanted to be out there on daPlaya 8)

A standing "O" from this web-cam observer. Thank you to all involved!

I got a little heart broken when I watch all the burner-rigs roll through town Saturday Sunday and Monday.

Watching the feed cheered me up more than I thought it would. (If the DJs talked too much I didn't notice, but dads/husbands have selective hearing.)

Thank you again, It was a wonderful gift.

Thanks to whoever set up the cam, tower and link.
Also to the operators who gave us the tours of the playa.

The BMIR feed was , just that, BMIR some times utterly lame,
sometimes brilliant and gives me playa flashbacks.

When they were doing the death dirge, i switched over to squarepusher,
The Burn commentary and temple music also got squelched, but otherwise
it was good to hear the radio calls and even the wind for a bit :)

Yes, I was part of N V 0 9, but not in 2010.

NUT!!!

It was the Banker calling for Howie.

Or maybe he was calling for Kyle.
