I have no idea. But I bet that that information is available as some sort of record for the weather station at Gerlach. Spend a few moments on google and see what you can dig up!

That was an experience. My wife and I walked our bikes along side of 3 art cars and several other people trying to find our way to the temple. We all some how ended up near 9:30 and esplanade.gerlachedNloaded wrote:friday night after the mega burn.. that whiteout on the esplanade was intense. couldn't see a damn thing. wind was WICKED

We were really lucky to be in a group of five after the burn. Two in the group were really good with which direction we were heading, and another in our group was driving a very very well-lit trike. It took us a bit to get back to camp, but we managed with little mishap.
Two camp mates hung back for the burn. They said the fireball that ignited the man caused the white out, as the storm hit seconds after the giant fireball went foom.

The fireball didn't cause the whiteout, it was simple coincidence.
The Utah conclave was downwind. When the fireworks went off, we closed up the fuel cart and headed back toward the perimeter a bit. There were blowing sparks and cinders from the fireworks. I'd taken off my gloves to futz with my dying camera, when I felt some on my arm. I threw on my cotton long sleeve jacket and put my leather gloves back on. Just then a flying piece of firework smacked my hand, hard enough it HURT. If I'd had my glove off, I'd have a very bad burn.
The wind picked up even more and the cinders rained down. At that point Larry grabbed the cart and we hauled ass sideways to a spot which wasn't under the rain of fire. Sure the dip cans were sealed, but the risk was pretty dicey. The flaming debris was pretty scary on the downwind side.

GnL, did you happen to have a 2-story art car, that started near Root Society on Friday, went out into the storm, then ended up the other side of the city? There were only 10 people or so on the 2nd floor of the car, dancing, 2 girls making out for about 30 minutes, etc... If so, we talked for a while, during the ride and at the stops. Just checking, as we are looking for the girl who was 'married to the playa'...gerlachedNloaded wrote:our artcar ended up nearly to the trash fence before realzing the error and "turning". ended up at 2 and esplanade near bass camp. what a night!
