Criminal Behaviour

Post by Paydirt » Tue Dec 14, 2010 6:17 am

A couple of years ago my friends were all ragging on me about not losing or forgetting my ticket (don't know where they get off thinking I'm an airhead!) We were approaching the gate and of course I couldn't find it. So 50 feet from the pre-gate check and in a panic I dove into the back of our tight packed cherokee and started burrowing like a crazed badger into the metal milkcrates. Although I nearly suffocated and had some awesome bruises, it gave me a nice tiny outlaw buzz and 6 months later I found my ticket in the safe place I had hidden it!

I move mine from the safe deposit box to a sm fire safe at home that I stick in the fridge in front of my beer. That way when I'm packing the color as we get ready to leave of the ever important beer, I can't help but grab the tickets. 2200 miles is a long way to drive to have to turn around for forgotten tickets
Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.

It must've really hurt to bury yourself in the back of a jeep cherokee packed with milk crates!

I usually travel with just one or two other close friends, & there is a brief reveal of tickets and where we're keeping them before we get on the highway. That way, we know we've got 'em, & if one of us forgets where they put them on the way, the other remembers. (If you stop at a motel on the way down, it's good to do this again when you leave the motel.)

I'm happiest on the years where they sell tickets at the door, though--just in case something goes wrong.

I wish I knew where my 2010 BRC souvenier ticket stub was. It's like once I'm in the door, my natural tendency towards disorganization loosens its stays and breathes a huge sigh of relief.
