Missed the real thing
Even after ensuring my vacation time was scheduled and my ticket was purchased early I had to miss Burning Man this year.
There's no way to express how grateful I am to you, and others of course, for posting photos from the event so that I don't have to COMPLETELY miss my visit to the playa.
Your photographs are gorgeous. I hope you're able to use them in an exhibit of some kind as they are deserving of the accolades they would receive.
I also hope you don't mind that I've "borrowed" one for my desktop ... a gentle reminder that in 2005 I'll definitely be able to go home again.
((borrowed dsc09998 if you're interested))

Re: 2004 Photos
Tristan, thanks for sharing your pictures and perspective... they're beautiful!
Photos- mostly people
I carried a dry erase board around with some markers and asked people to write what ever they wanted to. It was a great expereince and I met a LOT of wonderfull people. I also asked everyone in my pics if I could take a picture of them unless they were background or fully clothed. My favorite is simply two people in the middle of the road kissing. Life is good and I know where home is.

I was on the playa from Sunday through Sunday and these pics show the partial build of hushville and then the playa growing, then the people. My favorite moment was definitly Sunrise at the Temple on Sunday morning after the man burned.

more pics
Posted most my pics:
http://lustmonkey.com/2004/camp/index.htm
links for camp, people, temple, and some taken with a disposable. They are Halcyon-centric. But some good ones in there, too.

There are many photo galleries posted in this thread, which one are you refering to ?kiddo wrote:Right fucking on! Your pictures are astounding, I am a photographer and your shots have blown my mind. I get so caught up that I don't use my camera enough on the playa, well at least not at night. I have like 23 rolls but mostly during the day, your shots are amazing.
several people asked me if they can get print/poster versions of some of my photos from www.playa-dust.com .
unfortunately i don't have the right to sell any of the burning-man prints, even "at cost" (i.e. without me making any profit, just charging for lab work and shipping), without a written authorization from the burning-man organization.
since several people asked me, i will ask burning-man if they agree to let me sell some of those photos "at cost".

Wow... I received an amazing amount of personal email about those http://www.playa-dust.com photos. Thanks you to all of you for those nice compliments!
I've just reprocessed all the photos to make them smaller (without compromizing the quality and resolution), so the site should be much faster, especially if you have a slow connection.
I have also added a few more photos (like the big inflatable star and a spiky temple)

My photos from 2004
I just got finished posting my pics from this year's burn:
http://www.pogovisuals.com/photos/thumb ... =1&sort=na
As you'll see from the gallery we were clearly focused on the Temple this year.
Anyway, the images are all cleaned up and the hi-res files will be online for a while. Please let me know what you think!

A modest selection of pictures from this year. As usual, you must wade through the ten photos I didn't delete, but hey, I LIKE my pics of the sun tunnels, spiral jetty and synorgy ...
I change the pictures after most burn events, so check back after Winter Solstice too.
Pictures were taken with either a Kodak point and shoot or an old Sony mavica, the kind that uses a floppy disk.
Thanks for looking.
