Of course I had a great time but this year seemed to lack. I know a lot of prominent Burningman artists were in New York fucking with the RNC. They were missed immensely. There was not much in way of great large scale art compared to years past and the idea of large performance art pieces seems to be gone altogehter. There used to be circuses all over the place, even a huge opera. I hate to use the word but this year felt more like a RAVE than ever before.
It's all personal and subjective of course and I think it's partially because this is the first year I was not involved with a project of my own and decided just to show up, camp and take it all in. I was mostly a (AGGH) spectator. Never again. I want to issue a call to arms to the vets (if you agree) to bring back the inspiration and emotion that wasn't there next year. Let's all vote this A-hole out of office so we really have something to celebrate this year!!!

Poor wording on my part
My FIRST Burn was '97. I loved it. My favorite was 2002 so far. I was overwhelmed by the art and creativity that year.
