Another Burn come and gone ... Another life changing Event

Post by Zeejay » Thu Sep 09, 2004 1:41 pm

And I've got that indescribable feeling, Like i'm glad to be back at my other home but sad to have left the playa behind again.

I keep catching myself day dreaming with tears in my eyes thinking of "Home", OF how many people i met and thought, if only we had more of you in this world.

Every year Something just completely blows me away halfway through or so and I feel like i will never be the same again.

This year it was an experience i had out a little ways past the man on wednesday or tuesday night. I was walking a bit out looking for a porta potty when A strangly shaped orange light cought my eyes, now at this point my perspective was pretty well "shifted", it looked like a figgure made out of fire and IT seemed to be looking back and me and calling me towards it. I couldn't help myself i had to follow, the thing is when i got close it seemed to run foward a little ways and then look back to call me again. Eventualy i actualy made it to the source, a beautyful woman spinning her poi (sp?) far out on the playa, i was so blown away that i couldn't bearly find words to speak to her, all i could do was blurt out something about how i saw a "fire sprite" and then I was off on my way to find my campmates before i lost em having been gone for quite some time by this point.

Ever have one of those experiences where you wish you could do it over again differently? well this was one of em, i spent the rest of the burn thinking about this and how i should have stayed and talked, at least found out her name. So Beautyful fire dancer girl, whoever you are, I'll remember you always.

What I learned from this was that next year i need to carry on all experiences to completness and not worry about my campmates or whats going on elseware, be in the moment.
