Need some advice

Post by Glowmaster » Sat Sep 11, 2004 6:18 am

I just wanted to know how nevada treats drug arrests for people from out-of-state.
I've had my share of incidents with the police here at home, and ended up with 2 felonies for possession of pot. Both times were for less than a gram.
I ended up doing 2 years in the house of corrections here in wisconsin.

My question is, if I get busted for possession of some weed at BM, would I be facing felony charges in Nevada because of my record here, or would I be facing the standard $250 fine?

Thanks in advance.
I can put a glow on anything.

Anything!

Considering your vulnerability because of your past convictions, maybe you should consider not doing any (illegal) drugs at all? Booze can be pretty fun. Sobriety can be pretty fun. Guarana closely replicates speed. Meditating is fun. Etc. etc. etc.

lordy... considering how important the answer is I'd seriously consider asking a lawyer and not taking any legal advice given over the freakin internet as something to live by.
It's all about the squirrels.

Not to mention illegal if not coming from a lawyer.

I'm going to do what I'm going to do anyway, I just wanted to know if anyone knows anything about this.
I'm not asking for legal advice that I would live by, just some facts if someone knows.

Thanks for all your replies so far.

Speaking from experence for last year, one of our campmates got busted for pot and received a ticket for $250.00. They also serched his tent and took his stach. He did pay $100.00 of the $250.00 fine over the past year. Before returing to BM this year he called to make sure if there was or was not a warrent issued for the unpaid balance. He was told that because he did attempt to make payments the ticket was dropped and no warrent was issued along with no record of his ticket. However for those who did not make any payments there were warrents issued. It might be worth it to try and make a payment then wait a while and call to check it out:)

I don't think you understood the question. I have 2 felonies in Wisconsin. They were both state charges, so I was wondering if I get caught at BM with some weed, will it be my first offense because it's a different state, or will it be my third offense because of the 2 felonies from Wisconsin.

Thanks for the reply though.

sorry, I forgot to mention that the guy who received the ticket had in the past been busted in Oregon with a mistameanor (misspell?). He was not a felon. I would advise you to contact a lawyer on your own because each state law is different. Good luck!
