Memoirs of a former virgin...

Post by Guest » Mon Sep 27, 2004 11:24 am

hey brothers and sisters,
duke here. vault of heaven was my very first burn...and it changed my life for the better and i just wanted to share a few of my favorite memories from burningman 2004...caution...some of these are R rated...if ur younger or sensitive u may not want to read this

I remember making pornohats at freds place before i went to the playa.
I remember arriving in BRC and immedeatly feeling like its the home ive never been too before.
I remember my first glimpse of the man, around sunset on monday, through a dust tornado.
I remember waking up, looking across my camp and seeing santa sitting on a couch with a naked guy and a guy painted completely silver wearing a seron and thinking "damn...that dose still hasnt worn off"
I remember taking driving lessons for my camps art car (International Time Vault) out in deep space with Captain Jellyfish and my camps pet little girl Wildhorse(i think shes 7...give it up for the tiny burners!)
I remember trying 2C-I and falling inlove with this wonderful chemical.
I remember Lars painting a tribal burning man on my arm...it didnt come off till i was back in jersey, and i can still see where it was from the tanline.
I remember rolling with my new big sister J. during an important camp meeting, giving eachother backrubs and making a big scene in the middle of the floor while fred was talking about the rideshare program.
I remember hangin out at the Luv-A-Fair camp on the esplanade, dosed retarded watching the sand blow around all the art installations. (PS. if ur reading this...guy from luv a fair..cant remember ur name... this is duke, i spent a while talkin with u over the course of the week...i lost ur email address...get in touch with me)
I remember wandering around the desert late one night, not knowing where i was, where i was headed, what i intended to do, my feet were sore, my legs were tired and i kept blacking out...someone must have found me, figured out where i was from and taking me back..next thing i could remember was someone with long black hair helping me hobble into the hostel...thanks whoever you were
I remeber going out for an early morning(read:while we were still sober)cruise in the time vault with big sister J. the car brok down on the esplanade, we found a lone phone booth on the playa and called God and begged him to send someone to jump start our car...we found out later the battery was fine and the engine seized because we didnt put any oil in it (oops...note to self...bring oil to BM2005) but thanks for the help G-Man.
I remember watching the burn from someone elses art car...when the mans left arm fell down and the man was standin there doin his nazi salute...the other people got a bit TOO excited...that was kinda creepy.
I remember The Mutaytor's final concert on the playa...BIG props to everyone on the mutaytor crew...went out with a bang, im glad i got to be there for it...u should consider a come back show.
I remember rolling my balls off and getting head from some really cute hawaiin guy during the mutaytor show.
I remember being asked to perform a penis trick for a bowlpack...again during the mutaytor show.
I remember falling off one of the bar cars...i have a scar on my arm from that...during the mutaytor show
I remember stopping off at the burn bucket by Sanctuary, on the esplanade, after the mutaytor show...drawng in the playa with my finger and unearthing a beautiful BM2004 necklace and a very well used pipe...it was claimed by someone sitting around the fire...but he let me keep the necklace.
I remember easily the most spiritual moment for me on the playa...during the temple burn, with my arms around my friends...in complete silence...held in awe by the ash and embers slowly falling down on us.

then of course theres the bad memory...i remember hitching a ride back from the TB on an art car with this cool old hippie guy, blazing a fatty joint wityh him...watching him get stoned on my shit, he even gave me a cool red blinky light...then getting back to my camp to find two BLM rangers waiting for me...the hippie guy was an undercover cop, i lost my pot, i lost my mushrooms, and i lost my last microdot...but i still have the blinky red light.

finally I remember arriving back in reno, checking into the atlantis, and seeing groups of people here and there covered with a layer of playa dust and sharing a smile with them, or a hug, or just saying "ill see ya next year brother"

wow...i remember alot...id think with all the alcohol and chemicals, i wouldnt remember anything...but this is just a small portion of my memories...ive taken enough of your time...so tell me...do any of you guys and girls have any favorite memories u wanna share with the world???

Hi,
You can read my story I wrote somewhere here. I know one of the guys at Luv a faire-marc so maybe I can help ya. So, I can't believe they have undercover cops there. Did you get a ticket? that was kind of funny reading that part. bye, creativehorsegirl.

Hey, Captain Duke! Thanks for piloting the Time Machine only in between doses (yeah, right! :? ). Your enthusiasm was contagous and thanks to you, Big Sister J, and the others I was able to enjoy a good first burn by turning over the beast to you. It's just a Briggs and Straton engine, I've rebuilt those in high school so I'm sure I can do it again.

You were great on the megaphone singing "Time Warp" as it cascaded off of the acrylic hourglass and we all pushed it back to camp like a wounded horse ready for the pistol of mercy.

I'm still looking for more photos of our Mutant Vehicle. Let me know if you see any out there.

Cheers!
