This year at BM there was a band F-Stop that had a guy who played a percussion instrument that shot fire out of each side. I'm interested in creating a fire breathing drum of my own, and would like to talk with him. If anybody knows who it is, please respond.
Thanks

The drum was more of a tube with steel cables of different lengths run parallel along it. The wires/cables were hit with the drum stick producing a drum like sound. The flames seemed to be controlled with a pedal and would shoot out the ends of the tube. At least from what I could tell in my BM frame of mind.
I thoroughly enjoyed them and loved seeing live music on the playa. I caught them late Wed night (early Thurs) I think it was, then again Fri night....I think. For some reason it's all just a big wonderful dusty haze.

Cool to see the posts. Some of the posts are "mainly" correct. Scot or I will be happy to clarify if you email us.
You can see/hear more about Scot's instrument Volatile, and his other creations at our website:

We have some really nice video footage from some of the shows, plus some great multi-track recordings, so we'll be posting MP3s and AVI files to our site soon, all for free download.
Here's a funny photo of Scot and Volatile in the "Leather and Iron" video:

Just email me if you'd like to be on the notification list for these. I only send out about 1-3 small text emails per month.
Happy New Year!
