Gerlach is the sticks. You're a couple hours drive away from restaraunts, shops, entertainment, and a sizable pool of members of the opposite sex. Not very appealing to potential immigrants.

Oh yeah, there's the whole 'employment' thing too. Not much in the way of jobs out there...

Not a lot of land out there to build on either, apparently. A lot is owned by the feds, I guess.

Because it's surrounded on all four sides by Nevada?

Someone is got to take that giant first step of giving lot's of people the greatest reason to visit Gerlach. Like building by far the largest sculpture of a vigina and a penis ln the world.
That will do it.

Funny thing is that now Larry's a trucker, we can live anywhere that's within four hours of an interstate. We're thinking of Nevada because they wouldn't tax the snot out of his navy retirement the way Utah does now. Gerlach wouldn't be so bad as long as I could get online and could find a way to receive the scifi channel. Trouble is, we'd have to sell the house in Ogden. Maybe some type of land swap ... oops wandering into commerce. Just speculation mind you.
