Wanted - Jazz Bassists

Post by jazzcakes » Wed Aug 24, 2005 12:18 am

The Third Inversion Jazz Cafe (located conveniently next door to the BRC post office) is in dire need of good bassists. We will have a decent bass rig and an electric bass, but we're sans bassist. You're welcome to use our gear or bring your own.

There are a ton of excellent jazz musicians on the playa dropping in to play, and a house group dedicated to a couple evening performances.

If you're interested in playing, let us know (preferrably now -- we're freaking out about the prospect of playing duets), or if you just find yourself on the playa, just drop by and say hi. We're especially in need of bassists early in the week (Monday - Tuesday) -- our B3 player shows up Wednesday.

Sounds like fun. I'll try to drop by early in the week. I can play electric fretted or fretless bass (4, 5, or 6 string). Haven't really spent any time with stand-up, though.

You can hear some of my fretless playing at www.cdbaby.com. Click on the Snipe Hunt album "I Saw the Future (But the Damn Train Hit Me Just the Same)", then on the song "Every Time I Look Around."

Thanks,

WaltSnipe
