Sandworm

Postby Rage » Wed Jan 19, 2005 4:40 pm

Has there ever been a giant sandworm on the playa like in Tremors or Dune? (If not, why not?)

Not like I'm able to create such a thing, but man would I like to see it!

In 2002 there was a huge whale that was as big as a sandworm. It would be interesting to have a vehicle like a sandworm that slowly drove around and "gobbled" people up....(giving them plenty of time to "escape" if they did not want to get on board...)

I seem to recall seeing pictures a piece of art that looked like that sand worm but I looked through the BM pictures on the website yesterday searching for it and never did see it.

I remember a camp on the fringe of town that resembled a huge slug....It was made from PVC and shadecloth, and there was a "slugmobile" mobile unit too.
I really like the idea of a GobblerMobile that eats people as it goes.....Like a cross between a Sandworm and the Spectre capsule-eating spaceship from "You Only Live Twice." I can see the drill- As the vehicle overtakes a pedestrian, those already on board begin screaming, and then throw plastic bones out the back....cue loud, prerecorded "BURRRP!".

I've got designs for a snake-like Sandworm artcar but have neither the tools nor the finances to try it.

It's that time of the year for dragons. I love them and think a playadragon would be wonderful.

As if group would be willing to walk around like that.

Can you imagine a Chinese Dragon mutant vehicle, on the Draka scale, all trimmed with EL? (I need a barn, and a semi and trailer, and some Oompa Loompa studio assistants!!!)

From what I read, it's less of a "remake" and more of a go back to the original source and redo it. Which might be interesting. There was a thread in General Discussion, but I've forgotten the name. If I have time I'll link it alter.
