art placement recommendations please?

hi all
so this will be my first playa art project
I would love to have any advice on placement...

the "art" is meant to suggest a standing stone Circle
it's a 50 foot ring of 11 or so old refrigerators
decorated up to look like megaliths
inside each is an interactive activity

is it better to request placement nearer to center?
do near-center pieces get trashed and ripped off?
or is deep playa better?
do things get ignored on the deep playa?

do you even get what you request?
what is the best way to make the request?
there doesn't appear to be anywhere on the form

One thing you'll have to do is set up lights for your art. Don't want mutant vehicles crashing into refrigerators at odd hours of the night...

I looked at the pdf (haven't seen the online version). Seems to me the best place to put this request is with question 17 since they allow you to be as detailed as possible here.

I have no idea how to answer your other questions. You could just show up and set up your art and then tell the artery where it is, just avoid the CD markers for the pre-placed art.

eta: BTW, I think this is an awesome project. I can't wait to play with it.

heya, this is playaquest, from the bm art department. after you register your piece, we'll be in contact with you (by phone). in that conversation, you can request a specific placement, and we'll do our best to accommodate you. whatever you want (short of sitting next to the man), it shouldn't be a problem.

i wouldn't worry too much about your stuff getting vandalized ... frankly, if that's going to happen, it'll pretty much happen anywhere.

personally, i think your piece is better suited for the deep playa, as it has a finding stonehenge feel, which would be cooler out in the deep playa, rather than in the hustle and bustle of the inner playa, IMO.

ultimately, it's up to you. thank you for creating art for the event, and we're looking forward to your contribution.
