Where to buy good quality silver tarp by the roll?

Post by oggie » Mon Sep 19, 2005 11:29 pm

Hi All,

Does anyone know where's a good place to purchase good quality silver tarp that's not cut, sewed and grommeted into standard sizes.

Reason being, we're thinking to use 6oz silver to tarp to make a fitted 32' dome cover and chopping up standard size tarps for the 160 panels seems a little wasteful considering all the edge treatment and grommets that will get discarded..

If the best answer is to use pre-cut tarps, I like http://tarps.com/hdpoly.htm best so far. Anybody find a better site?

Thanks,

Oggie.

I always get my tarpage from a surplus store in Schoolcraft, Michigan...Not suggesting you make the drive. But if there's a nearby purveyor of Chinese tools and one-dollar-blinkies, they're often amenable to wheelin' and dealin' although they're just as happy to sell you tarps at retail. The overhead on tarps is pretty substantial, and if you can talk 'em down 30 or 40 percent, which you can, then if you consider shipping costs it works out pretty well. I personally would rather have the option of using preset grommets and preseamed edges. An those places always have something that a burner needs, or at least make for good peoplewatching.
