Fiber optic light string
I'm looking for a spool or spools of that plastic material that they make cheesy fiber optic lamps or those little hairy light up fiber optic toys at disneyland with. I'm not sure what it's called. Searchs come up with either individual toys or fiber lines for data. I assume the material is acrylic but I don't know that. If anyone knows where I can buy that you'll get a big giant hug. I'm looking for roughly 10,000 ft. So I'm hoping it.s $0.01 a foot or less. I'm guessing it'll actually be less if I can find the actual product.

Is thick fishing line too thin for your needs?
If not than you could look for "wire" sized materials like nylon, polypro, acrylic etc. Material choice would depend on your flexibility needs and durability etc. Cheapest price would be direct from a manufacturer or materials vendor that specializes in plastics.

Are you looking for single or multi-mode fiber?
Not sure if this is still responding but you might give it a shot. Send e-mail to:

In the Subjcet line type: "Latest fiber optic offering" (without the quotes)
I believe these folks have excess, recycled fiber.
Good luck.
