I am wondering what some of the theme camps do (even some of the bigger ones) to raise money for themselves.
I think I have a good idea. I have the people-resources to make it happen. The only thing standing in my way is money. I'm not looking for handouts, I'm looking for viable, plausible ways to bust ass and bring something out there next year to offer the masses.
Any information is beautiful~

I can't speak to how effective any of these methods have been, but here's what I've seen:
1) Groups with enough attractive members sometimes create and sell calendars
2) Hold fundraising parties where you charge admission
3) Do related work on the side, using the tools/expertise/resources you build up doing the project
4) Recruit lots of helpers and ask them for contributions
5) Form a big camp and ask or require camp fees, some of which go to the project
6) Do a good writeup of the project and attempt to get a BMORG grant
7) Use credit cards and worry about the rest later

I thought BMORG grants were only a Black Rock City urban legend!6) Do a good writeup of the project and attempt to get a BMORG grant
How does one apply for them? What are the rules? Can you tell me where to go (to find out)?

Also, make sure and understand the BM only does grants for "art" not for theme camps. They will provide support for some of the theme camps (trenching, etc) but not funds.Dork wrote:Searching for "grant" on the BM website gave me this:BAS wrote:I thought BMORG grants were only a Black Rock City urban legend!![]()
