Looking for a welder to do some BM ArtCar welding

Post by malchik » Tue Jul 01, 2008 11:11 am

Hello,
We are building a mutant vehicle (our second) based on a short 1990 school bus, and we want to build this platform:

and attach it to the roof of the bus. As you can see from the picture, the total number of welds/joints is under 30, but it has to be done well to hold people up securely. Hand railing itself, missing from the picture, will be made out of wood. We're looking for someone to suggest and get proper materials (probably used square metal tubes from a metal recycler), build this platform and attach it to the bus. Please reply here or email me at sashamalchik on yahoo with an estimate.

The bus is parked and can be worked on in Berkeley.

Thank you!

You could build that whole thing with this.

That is if you can't find someone to weld it.
I think it is available at the home depot.
Good luck!

I would suggest you go to the Shipyard in Berkeley or American Steel in Oakland and see if any of the artists that work out of those places would be willing to assist you. The equipment at American Steel is first class and I am certain they also have top notch gear at the Shipyard.
Those who think they can and those who think they can't are both right.
