Fly in and out of Burning Man

Post by redly » Mon Jun 15, 2009 7:25 am

When I went looking on how to fly in and out of BRC airport, I just couldn't find anything listed at Delta or Travelocity.
Here are two companies I found if you are trying to avoid the drive:
http://www.advantageflight.com/
http://www.centurionfs.com/

I listed their main webpage as their burning man links can change. Advantage seems to have smaller planes but less expensive flights, while Centurion can handle more peeps but it costs more.

I've talked with both companies and they both seem really cool to deal with. The flight in/out of BRC is pretty cool too.

Just an FYI.

Weight is a consideration, if choosing to fly in, you will need support on the ground who will haul in your water and maybe your bike.

Delta and travelocity? You're kidding, right? The BRC doesn't have a paved airstrip and the terminal is a shade structure.

Completely kidding! but the first year I did try to find an air taxi, the search was a little challenging (harder than just using travelocity for my other air travel needs) which is why I wanted to just post this info for others.

Ground support is super important. I was fortunate to have a group to haul my stuff as I had to leave early due to work.

The terminal at Black Rock City airport does handle tickets (including will call) so be sure you have your ticket to get into the city!

Whew. Because there have been serious inquiries about the Empire airport.

I thought this looked interesting, and so inquired..

The cost is USD $220 per person one way, if the minimum of 3 people is met. I've asked how much it is if the capacity of 30 is met, and waiting for a reply.

Anyone interested in this for this year?
