I believe you're thinking of the cubeatron...
it was a big lighting array with a bunch of LEDs inside a bunch of little white balls, hung in a biiiiiiiiiiiiiig grid... from a distance it looks like an led screen, but up close you realise it's 3-D! We layed underneath it and stared upwards at the patterns, someone was passing around a pair of 3-D glasses, and regardless of your state of mind, when the lights came rushing down at you, it was amaaaaaaazing!

and you cant buy one you have to make it unless some person started making small ones for people to use at there house but if so it would be a lot since the cup cake carts that some may have seen in past burns are selling for like 10,000 each and if a remember last time I saw them at the apple blossom parade in Sonoma county their were 4? correct me if i am wrong. so i am guessing if there is a cubeatron for sell is would probably be really expensive

no, really........c'mon people.Bling wrote:Way cool! I can't wait to see the new version. How hard is it to find an individual piece of art on the Playa?
finding anything there, is a "challenge", at least for me.
I run across things, in random, and am very happy.......but, if someone gives you directions....well......."hey, blinky lights!!!!"......comes into play.
I'm thinking there is some sort of map, for major projects, but, really, it's quite fun to just wander and "see what you see"........

Actually, you can. The guy who makes them sells them to subsidize the project. You can even buy just a single strand of the lights, although there's only so much it can do without a computer to control it. Just google "cubatron" and you should be able to find the maker.St.Peter wrote:and you cant buy one
