I love bacon at least as much as any proper Burner does, but I'm not sure about that thing, maybe I'm just simple... but I prefer to say "purist".
Plain ol' bacon strips might not be possible to improve on.

To me it's like ice cream, where I'm definitely a simple-minded purist: there's only one kind - chocolate. And no rocky-road, fudge-swirl, double-triple super extra choco-explosion crap, with chocolate chips in it, just chocolate.
But if you sliced me off a piece of that bacon thing I sure as hell wouldn't turn it down!

I'm with you, Captain. Plain ol' bacon is the best - well, and gorgonzola-stuffed dates wrapped in bacon.

thisiswhyyourefat.com offers a plethora of bacon interpretations.

The latest:

mmm maple and bacon is a nice combination.

I just ordered one of these bacon explosions to be shipped to a very sick friend. I hope she gets to enjoy it, or at least the thought of it. She's a bacon lover. Thanks for the idea.

Soap can easily be made with any rendered fat. Just use that mason jar for cleanliness of skin, rather than goodness of frying.

Bacon soap, commercially available, has been on-line for years - at least four, that I can think.

Last year, my bacon-famous friend (she is known for all things bacon) made me some gluten-free maple-glazed bacon chocolate chip cookies, and I think I might have cried.

I made peanut butter chocolate bacon fudge for the SE Decomp, it was pretty good.

This week,

Candied Pecan Bacon
- serves at least 8 -

Adapted from Pig: King of the Southern Table by James Villas.

Ingredients
1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
1 pound lean sliced bacon

Procedure
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

2. On a plate, combine the sugar, flour, and pecans and mix till well blended.

3. Lightly dredge the bacon slices in the mixture, arrange the slices close together on a broiler pan, and bake till browned and almost but not quite crisp, about 30 minutes. Drain on paper towels, break each slice in half, and serve at room temperature with cocktails.

How did you wrap a bite-size snickers around a rasher?

Dance. Dance. Dance. Its 7miles or so from 10 to 2 with, depending on turnout, up to 10 roads. ....700 miles of playa camps and sideroads + art works and deep playa fun. + dehydration and no time to eat....at times. I lose a couple ponds every year and eat my fill of bacon!

Is it really 7 miles? I read it was a quarter-mile from Center Camp to The Man, and a total area of about 5 square miles.

:?: :?: :?:

Does anybody know how many miles BRC is across? Or how many miles from Center Camp to the fence? I went poking around and couldn't find any numbers. :?

It's just about two miles across, maybe a smidgen more. But if you go along the trash fence, it is about 7 miles long. It is not a circle but rather a pentagon. It's a big area, but unless you're patrolling the parameter or training for a marathon, you'd never know it.
