Getting rid of some things
Getting rid of some things
I was going to originally go completely solo to BM 2010.
I have since found a camp. I am looking to get rid of a few things this summer that I don't think I'll be needing any longer... And as time goes on, if I happen to find anything worth picking up for a few bucks, that I may later not need, I'll also post it here.
Still trying to decide if I'll ship these items for free. I guess it really depends on the weight and cost of shipping (and how broke I am that pay period)
So, if you are interested in anything I post about here... PM me, and we'll chat. Only gifting things to serious inquiries. I'd love to see these items make it out to the playa this year, but I understand that won't always happen. Hopefully it will make someone else's camp a little more homey.
I can provide pictures, if needed?
So far, I have
-A 45-cup old school coffee percolater/server (electric)
It looks like this:

Basically, I don't need this anymore. The one I got at a garage sale for about 15$ works just fine, it a bit older, and the electrical cord has a small tear in it at the base, there are wires exposed--where some electrical tape will do just fine and work no problem.
Next Item UP
I picked up this really really cool, about 3' plaster column. It's pretty awesome, I was going to take it to BM with me for (i dont know, something?) when I was going to take a moving truck.
This thing, honestly, is really cool, don't know what to use it for, and it's HELLA FRIGGIN HEAVY
So, it's probably best someone in the AZ/CA area comes and picks it up.. Free? (No one will probably want it due to weight, and having to come get it)
It's round, shorter and wider then this picture. It was plaster white. I've since painted it a dark, starry blue.

So splain this to me Lucy; if you were going solo, why would you need a 45 cup coffee maker, but now that you will be with a larger group, you no longer need it.Victorian wrote:I was going to originally go completely solo to BM 2010.

Also, what were you gonna do with a plaster column that you can't do in a theme camp. The column can be used for a cool piece of art in your home, or you can use it for the "art d'jour" that you can change out regularly.
I'm glad you found a theme camp to join. You'll have a blast!

Don't make me draw you a picture here...

Just take them both to the playa. Set the coffee maker up on the column and serve coffee. Or run some Jello through it.
Or look at the theme camp list, see if any of the coffee ones might want it.
45 cups sounds huge.
Turn it into some sort of "coffee is god" art installation/project. Cover the coffee pot in plaster, a la a statue, put it on it's pedastal and let people worship.
