Free Kevlar vest in Benicia, CA
I found it in the back of an old police car. It's a bit weathered and, Im willing to bet, NOT soo bullet proof anymore!!!!! The fabric shell can be easily modified, and if you have back problems, You may just love it! Still has shock plate. I may be moving soon, and I need to get rid of excess toys. Also have an old steel sprayer, an empty hardshell rifle case and a few rounds of live 7.62x39 rounds. If you can come visit beautiful Benicia, they're yours! Or come up with some other convenient way to unload these..I'm all ears.
If you want one thing or the other, don't PM me. Let others know it may be gone.

Kevlar won't stop an AK round. Some of our smarter troops got resourceful. Our best protection, would to have never gone to Iraq.theCryptofishist wrote:*insert snarky comment about long ago time when our boys in Iraq didn't have armor on their patrol vehicles here*

yup, TS.TomServo wrote:Kevlar won't stop an AK round. Some of our smarter troops got resourceful. Our best protection, would to have never gone to Iraq.theCryptofishist wrote:*insert snarky comment about long ago time when our boys in Iraq didn't have armor on their patrol vehicles here*
and, IIRC, the armor for the vehicles, was not Kevlar. I was appauled that there was little or no armor, on vehicles that should have had it.
I wonder if it was money, or, naivete, in thinking no one would plant bombs or shoot back, "cause we so bad".
and even then, the armor, is mostly only effective against small arms rounds and low charge explosives.
A friends son in law lost several organs and an arm (but survived) in an armored HMMV, from an RPG.

since we were talking about Kevlar (body armor) and, you made your statement, I wrongly assumed you were referring to vehicle armor as being Kevlar.
Ergo, my elucidation, or, attempt thereof.

Actually, I suppose I didnt' really know that. That may be because I don't much care. Anything for a joke--who needs accuracy?ygmir wrote:I suppose I interpreted you wrong, Fishy.theCryptofishist wrote:Naturally.TomServo wrote:Our best protection, would to have never gone to Iraq.

I can be a touchy fish. Must be the lateral line. And my fur gets ruffled if there's any implication that I might be stupid...ygmir wrote:I'll go with that.theCryptofishist wrote:Actually, I suppose I didnt' really know that. and, of any or all implication possible, one can hardly imagine "stupid" being aimed at you.
"not knowing" something, is far from stupid, too.

Defensive mechanism from youth. I had sisters 5 and 7 years older than me. It's hard to compete at that time in your life.

It's not just an affectation here.
Might be especually handy for painting over gang territorial stuff.
I tried to post on here before, but my computer was giving me fits.
This one isn't a lot better, but somewhat.
It was mostly typing backwards.
Very annoying.
