Driving from the Pacific Northwest stop at Eagle's Nest
wow 2011 Seems like 2001 was just 10 years ago.
BURNERS CAMP FREE
As we have since 2006 Eagle's Nest RV Park offers a safe place 165 miles from BRC for people on their way to and from BurningMan who need a place to rest, check gear and get ready for your particular time of entry.
You want to sleep and work on your mutant vehicle it is free, but really it is an honor to have you guys come here
remember leave no trace. oh, we probably won't close the part to regular people this year as we have in the past, seems the guests that are lucky enough to be here really have liked meeting Burners.
Questions??

I can't quote it, cause I am blushing.. ah geee.. You make me feel all warm inside.
Special trips are great, and we might be putting together our own little get together, but if not, the week before the burn starts is a great time to come on down!
I/we really appreciate your very kind words, I think the way you expressed your feelings, Mojojita is why we do it. I mean, I mean, I mean, burners are the COOLEST!
Perspective! We purchased this RV Park because of its location in relation to burners coming and going to BRC, so really, to achieve our dream and our purpose, we need you guys. SO THANK YOU!

I stayed at the Eagle's Nest RV Park last year before my first burn!!!
I would recommend it to anyone... it was especially great for me and my pal who were coming for our virgin burn- everyone gave us a ton of advice, told us stuff we needed to know (the little things that count before we did our last shopping trip for food!) and we even met some nice people who we convoyed over to the Burn with!!
Was so wonderful!! Coming this year from Vancouver BC and we'll be at the Eagle's Nest again for a lovely night and luxurious hot showers!! :)
Thanks :)

I'm in! See you on the 27th.
WISH I COULD STOP
This is my first burn. I looked up your camping location to find out you are right by my home town of Klamath Falls! Unfortunately I will be headed to BM from San Jose...8( I will keep you in mind for future and will be telling my fellow burners in Eugene about you!

Re: Driving from the Pacific Northwest stop at Eagle's Nest
Hello from NZ.
We are so excited to visit Eagles Nest again! Our first visit was in '07 (we went to the store by Eagle's Nest and gatecrashed a wedding!), then '08. After a couple of years off, we're visiting Burning Man again. We'll roll in on Sunday afternoon/evening.
As ever, thanks so much for sharing your beautiful space with us!

Oh boy, I am getting so excited about the end of August. I wish folks had stopped in on the way to or from (although it is still possible) 4th of juplaya. also any early entry, BRC staff who transit the area are more then welcome to come in, take a load off for a while, camp free.
If anyone wants to use us as a staging area we are 164 miles from BRC.

Eagle's Nest is second only to arriving at BRC itself!
Re: Driving from the Pacific Northwest stop at Eagle's Nest
That's really sweet to know, thank you. I will be going early and there's a small chance I might have to drive myself. If so, I will be stopping more than the average person because it would only be my second roadtrip of all time, and certainly my longest--and I don't care much for night driving yet.wedeliver wrote:Oh boy, I am getting so excited about the end of August. THE BURNERS ARE COMING, THE BURNERS ARE COMING!
The grass is really good this year! The weather here has been very nice this short summer season, the shade trees are getting bigger also. We just mowed so the area is prepared for your visit.
We have arranged with the ISS to give us some early evening performances as we approach the burn, both here and on playa. You can find out the time at your location and over BRC at this website. http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/realdata/si ... ted+States Here is the link for Nevada http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/realdata/si ... ion=Nevada although I would consider using GPS info to narrow it down to BRC.
We look forward to your visit, please drive safely.
(thanks to the airport crew, the sticker is inspiring)

Re: Driving from the Pacific Northwest stop at Eagle's Nest
I want to thank the 300 - 400 burners who stopped here on their way to BRC for stopping here on your way. Getting to see some of the art on its way to the playa makes me feel very special. Those of you who donated to the cause, thank you so much, you are to kind. To those who came through and I did not greet or meet you, sorry that I missed you, but what is important is you make it to BRC in one piece. (I don't know what to do on Sunday night, I feel like a real kill joy telling people I don't think it is a good idea to do shots prior to heading out) I do feel a little responsiblity for your welfare, so be well and fair. thank you again and see ya all next year.

Re: Driving from the Pacific Northwest stop at Eagle's Nest
I stopped in for a leg stretching break around 2:30 am on Sunday on the way down. Nobody was up, but I now know exactly where to stop next year.
Y'all do a great service to the community. Keep up the good work!

I don't care what the borg says: feather-wearers will NOT be served in Rosie's Bar.
When I ask how many burns, I mean at BRC.
