Hi!
I'm building a pretty big maze for 2012. I'd love to be able to model it 3D but no know nothing about this type of software. It seems like there's LOADS of things out there but my needs are "fairly" simple.
I'd like to model solid walls, see-thru walls (think trash fence), doors, bridges and roof panels. That's pretty much it. If I could "walk" through the maze in 3D that would be ideal so you can look at it from any angle. Oh, and it's just for this project so it would be best if it were free/shareware and ideally not require a huge amount of learning.
I've used the Fence Designer on Home Depot's site which is really easy to use and pretty cool, but it would only let me build the walls (no doors and bridges) and not walk around the maze. But something that simple would be great.
Any suggestions/advice?

Those three videos are so uplifting, I've viewed them many times when I needed a little boost or got homesick.

+1 to the Google Sketchup recommendations. You can get a bit fancier and buy an upgrade with some extra features, but both let you do some pretty cool stuff, and even view them in Google Earth (meaning you could 'place' your maze on the playa). Have fun!

Thanks for the videos and good luck, just don't lose site of whats important, because this is a project you could definitely get lost in.
