Our small camp, around 10 people, needs a camp cook/meal planner. Responsibilities include some pre-trip meal planning and shopping and preparation of 3 meals/day. Camp members will help with meal prep. and clean-up.
We are a fun group that has an art car, RV, and tents for sleeping in. We will provide you with a ticket to Burning Man, a tent for sleeping, food, and use of the RV for showering, a place to get out of the weather, etc.

Please respond with a brief description of any past group cooking experience. We are planning to leave the south bay on Saturday August 27th and return on Monday September 5th.

I want to know how many hours a day are to be dedicated to taking care of the needs of the camp.

Is it less if you bring your own tent?

How fussy are the eaters?

3 meals a day with set times--or you cook when any one person is hungry?

Additional questions?

Do you supply the infrastructure such as stove, pots, pans, chopping board, trash receptacles, prep area, knives, cutlery, coolers, cuisenarts?

Are there any food allergies or preferences amongst the 10 people? Any vegetarians?

What about water for cooking and cleaning? Are there any provisions for greywater disposal?

I dunno, sounds kinda cool to me. Maybe their camp is very interactive and everyone will be too busy to cook. Besides, it's their VACATION. What more can you ask for than to have someone cook for you.

My question is: how easy is it to get a cook for a week at b-man in exchange for room and board. Also, *3* meals a day? Who eats that much on the playa?

Nothing compares to the camp I visited in 2002, they flew a professional sushi chef in from Japan, for one night. After that everything else is amateur night.

That's our usual (except breakfast; we do bacon & eggs) but I have an urge to grill some steaks or something out there (as if I knew how). I guess I like the contrast between high living and desolation.
