Who's Selling Ice: 2013

A unique and distinctive culture emerges from the Burning Man experience. Rooted in the values expressed by the Ten Principles, this culture is manifested around the globe through art, communal effort, and innumerable individual acts of self-expression. To many, it is a way of life.

Jobberknowl has a good sound to it, but what does it mean?
Now... Mooncalf is not even an adjective.... Maybe he's a moon-howling so-and-so? That seems to fit.

But we do know that he is a cantankerous blatherskite.

I don't wanna berate anybody.

I just like obscure words.

I sent a message to Bobcat Queen and Emerald and it turns out I hadn't been assigned onto Arctica so it they fixed it for me.
I just checked the sign up (works now---YAY!!) and Ice3 shifts are pretty full.
My sister signed up last night.

Are any of you, MDF, Elliot, Lucky, ?, ........ planning on just bringing extra people on your shifts where we could maybe slide in with you? :D

I see a Slinger position still open on Thursday morning. As I understand it, we are doing both Tuesday and Thursday mornings. I'm Pushing Thursday morning. I don't know about bringing anybody extra.

Awesome Martiansky!
Tuesday 9 to Noon at Ice Cubed, Bobcat Queen said bring a few extra folks would be fine. I told her in an email just now that we're looking at about 7 to 8 extra folks. So there will be a total of 20 people. Which is fine, because a know a couple of the folks that are signed up to work, out side our group, and they wont mind being able to relax a bit.
Mayor will be sorta frustrated that we will have a handful of folks that he'll have to document, beyond just checking off/verifying, but that happens every year.

There was last year -- all right there in front of us. But don't know about this year, since the system is completely different.
As for seeing who is volunteered for what positions (they've reformatted a little bit even since yesterday) if you look at the screen shot of the calendar I posted yesterday [page 5] at the top of the Calendar there is a drop down box that says "Shift View". If you switch that to "Share View" you're able to see who is working where and what shift.

As far as bringing extra folks to the Tuesday shift, its not like we need to go looking for people to bring. Its more of a way for ePlaya folks that didn't get "officially" signed up (me, Elliot, Martiansky, Tinkermom, Fishy, Asquared, VoiceintheDark, Mr.Potato...) to still go.

So basically all the folks that were on this list from way-back-when.
illy dilly wrote:Here is what we have so far, please feel free to let me know if we should make any changes
Pushers:
1.Tinkermom
2. BillyBoy
3. Mr. Potatomoto
4. Illy Dilly
5. Elliot (Hopefully)

Slingers:
1. Lucky420
2. TamaraKay
3. Graidawg (G-Dawg)
4. Puppy
5. Asquared
6. Anonymous
7. VoiceInTheDark

Cashiers:
1. MyDearFriend
2. Adelle (Asquared's Friend)
3. _________ [need a cashier!]

Greeters:
1.Elorrum
2.Triken

Line Barkers:
1. SaritaSara
2. Cristina (VntDark's Daughter)
As I reread that list, I realize that not a single one of the Pushers got volunteered in time to get signed up official. Takes a special breed to stand in the back of an ice truck.

Blame the system on not getting us in on time to volunteer!!

Lol, ya I'm that special breed to stand in an ice truck!

But, Illy, you get to move the pallets and I will stand on them this time!!

And this time, some one better bring us more than a half of a bottle!!

One of the Ice shift leads told me they often have trouble getting people to Push. For one thing, lots of perfectly normal people have never used a pallet jack. It really helps to have experience with that -- specially when you encounter a broken pallet. (There are ways, but they involve violence -- hydraulic violence. 8) )

Yes, some pallets are, as one of my co-worker says, very NAUGHTY!

And on top of that, using a pallet jack in a trailer, even worse using a pallet jack in a "wet trailer" with corrugated track floors not flat wood floors.

You're just special in general.
And thats fine, you can take a nap this time, its not like little'ol TinkerMom weighs enough to make a difference on a pallet of frozen water.
Right! To bad Pie Hole wont be there, after last year I think he understand the Booze as Bribes rule.
