Stair Ramps to help the Mobility Challenged

A unique and distinctive culture emerges from the Burning Man experience. Rooted in the values expressed by the Ten Principles, this culture is manifested around the globe through art, communal effort, and innumerable individual acts of self-expression. To many, it is a way of life.

Stair Ramps to help the Mobility Challenged

Do you want to build art at Burning Man this year? Would you like to be part of a multi-installation build? Based on an established project? Consider:StairRamp to Heaven.

Since 2016, we’ve been building a Ramp for the mobility challenged, placed at Mobility Camp and providing folks access to Mutant Vehicles. And this year we want to expand. Who uses it? Everyone from the wheelchair bound, to crutches, walkers, scooters, pregnant, elderly, and more.

We’ll provide a sample plan design and materials list and you can customize from there. The typical cost is around $400 (excluding lighting). This will be your project. You are responsible for: fundraising, building, transport, installation, registration with ARTery, etc. Most registered art projects may be eligible for gift tickets etc.

There will be an “art car bus stop” installation installed alongside your Ramp. You will be collaborating with that team on lighting.

To be considered for part of this project, please contact Lysa/Dazzle! [email protected] or 925.577.7897 (text first for best results)

When we work together, we can make the seemingly impossible, possible.

My hat's off to Dazzle! for including Mobility Challenged folks in her artistic vision.
