It is a threaded silver metal bolt with a black plastic knurled knob on the end -- I'd guess that the metal threaded bolt is about 2 inches long. I believe the black knurled knob has 4 spokes to it.

The company that makes the tripod doesn't make it anymore -- it would be nice if someone found it.
